With cold mountain air stinging my nostrils and a snowboard strapped to my feet I swung towards the top of the ski run on a lift. The scenery was gorgeous, and the view was only getting more expansive as my friend Nick and I neared the end of the lift ride.

The whole time I wondered to myself “How did I get myself into this?”

This was exactly the sort of place that I hate to stand. “Let’s go!” Nick said before shuffling his weight forward on his board until it teetered over the edge. With a deep breath and quickly muttered prayer I followed. I arrived at the bottom of the slope fully intact and giggling excitedly and for the rest of the day I was in wonderland.
