PSA time! Lauren, a YA review blogger who owns Shooting Stars Mag, Bridge the Gap, and Let’s Get Beyond Tolerance, has put together a nifty scholarship for LGBT teens and their allies. She’s posted the eligibility rules over at her Bridge the Gap blog:
To enter-
*You must classify as LGBT or an LGBT Ally
*You must live in the United States to be elegible (Any State!)
*You must be between the ages of 15 to 25 when you ENTER
*You must be somehow working to make sure everyone is more than tolerated, but accepted
*To apply for the scholarship…write an essay between 1-4 pages about why you deserve to win and personally fit the bill for this scholarship. Email it to: shootingstarsmag@aol.com… Read more
And this is where I come in. :) Along with other YA authors, I’m donating some of my books for Lauren’s auction, the proceeds for which will go straight to the scholarship pot.
I’m donating print copies of The Twilight Gods (historical fantasy), The Glass Minstrel (historical fiction), and Renfred’s Masquerade (historical fantasy). These books will be auctioned as one pack, not separate volumes, and they can only be shipped in the U.S.The open auctions are currently listed at Bridge the Gap as well, and you can bookmark the blog to keep up with other authors and their contributions. Please spread the word elsewhere, esp. if you know of LGBT teens and young adults who can benefit from this scholarship. If you’re a YA author, contact Lauren for information on how you can help in the auctions.
