I love Google Doodle, but I (we) miss out on so many really great illustrations. For whatever reason, Google decided to deprive the US (in these examples, anyway) of the following awesome designs and celebrations even though those days didn’t coincide with anything special here. What I mean is that during Liszt, Goethe, and La Fontaine’s birthdays, we only had the bland Google logo, while other countries enjoyed these beauties.



Speaking of deprivation, I just found out that a movie about Goethe before he became famous is now out:
And it’s pretty obvious that, like Mozart’s Sister, I won’t be able to watch it because the subject matter isn’t popular enough for art house theaters around here to even think about showing it. I’m telling you, there’s no justice in this world.
